{RULES}
Please Excuse our Dust! These rules are brand new and still might need a little tweaking. If you see any odd HTML or strange wording, let us know!
While many journal rps have similar rules, we ask you do humour us and have at least a quick read through ours, especially as there are some Paixao-specific rules here that are very important. Thanks!
General Rules
1. Let's keep the drama to IC! While, yes, sometimes drama happens, obviously we'd rather it be kept to a minimum. We're all here to have fun! Drama runs pretty low to non-existent on Paixao; we'd all like to see it kept that way.
Harassment will NOT be tolerated what-so-ever and can be grounds for immediate expulsion from the game.
Remember the mods are here to help. If you're having problems with a player, let us know.
2. IC =/= OOC. An action done by a character does not and should not reflect the emotions or opinions of the player. Don't use your character as your own personal mouthpiece against another player or character. On the other side of the coin, a character saying something against your opinion does not necessarily mean that the player is attacking you.
This rule also extends to meta-gaming. Even if you know information about a character or a plot point, that doesn't mean your character will necessarily know what's going on.
3. In-Character Actions = In-Character Consequences. This rule is related to the previous one. Not every character in the game is necessarily going to agree with what yours says or does. Please keep this in mind when you play, and if you know your character's actions will affect another person's character, please let them know.
4. No god-moding. God-modding without the permission of the other player is forbidden. For those who don't know, god-modding is the act of roleplaying another person's character, be it something as simple as speech or how they will act in response to something your character does, or something severe as injuring them.
Please remember that all characters have their weaknesses (even the gods like Hades and Urd!), physically or mentally. Keep in mind that no one is invincible.
We are not going to warn people more than once about these issues.
Activity
1. The Activity Check - You are expected to respond to the Activity Check once a month with your most recent activity. The Activity Check runs from the 8th to the 15th of the month.
To be considered "current", activity must take place between the 16th of the previous month, up to the 15th of the current.
Each character must be checked in with the most recent 3rd person activity they have. Specifically, we are looking at the date of comments, not the date of the log post itself, unless the log post is the current activity being used for the check. So, for example, a log might have been started two months ago, but as long as the comment you made to it was within the proper dates, it counts as current activity.
If any characters do not have current activity, they will be considered inactive and they must show double activity for the next Activity Check.
What we consider double activity is:
TWO 3rd person comments (to either the same log or two different ones) OR ONE comment to a log post and TWO 1st person comments.
If you do not reply to the Activity Check, even if all your characters are currently active, the characters will be considered inactive and they will ALL have to show double activity for the next Activity Check.
If a second Activity Check is missed, the inactive characters will be removed from the game.
2. Hiatuses - The maximum amount of time for a hiatus is two months. Any hiatus beyond this time may result in you being dropped or asked to drop.
It is required that you comment to the hiatus post, but you are also free and encouraged to post to the OOC Community too. Leaving a note on your character(s) journals is also not valid. If an Activity Check is missed and there is no comment on the hiatus post, your character(s) will be subject to the rules outlined above.
Players going on extended hiatuses are encouraged to write their characters out of any threads they're in the middle of, if possible.
If you hiatus for over a month, you will be asked to show double activity the next Activity Check following your return. (If you come off hiatus during an Activity Check, however, you will be considered as having been on hiatus for that check.) Failure to reply to the next Activity Check will result in your characters being removed from the game.
Application Rules
1. The max amount of characters allotted to a player is ten. You may only have three from one canon, with the exception of Organization XIII characters and Disney villains (see below).
2. We are not currently accepting applications for Original Characters, nor characters from fanmade or fanbased material.
Also we will also not accept applications of characters from series in which the authors explicitly forbidden online publication of fanworks. (These authors include, but are not limited to: P.N. Elrod, Raymond Feist, Terry Goodkind, Laurell K. Hamilton, Robin Hobb (Megan Lindhol), Dennis L. McKiernan, Robin McKinley, Irene Radford, Anne Rice (Anne Rampling, A.N. Roquelaure), Nora Roberts (J.D. Robb), Chelsea Quinn Yarbro, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Orson Scott Card, and Mercedes Lackey.)
Prove to us you're reading all this by writing "My Heart's a Battleground!" at the bottom of your application!
3. Organization characters:
a) You may app an Organization member as your first character, but please keep in mind that you will be expected to be active and may be called upon for various plots or responsibilities. Also, we ask that you are familiar with the game coming in and have a good idea of the Organization's activities in Paixao (what they do, what their goal is, why they're here...). In other words, we ask that you know what you are getting into before you decide to app a member of Organization XIII.
b) Should somebody playing an Organization member drop said character in the middle of an important thread, they will no longer be allowed to app an Organization member.
c) The number of Organization members allowed per mun is two.
d) This is not so much a rule but important to note: Xemnas is a permanent NPC.
4. Disney villains from the council of villains from the Kingdom Hearts games (this is Maleficent, Hades, Jafar, Pete, Oogie Boogie, Captain Hook, and Ursula)
a) Like with the above, you can apply for these villains as your first character, however, as some of the main villains in the KH series, it is important to ensure that those apping them will be active with them, and due to their smaller numbers and comparative rarity to the Organization, we want to ensure that those who app these villains will be active.
b) A player is only allowed one of these characters, due to their limited number.
Note: If you want to app the villain from their original canon, you are free to app them normally (in other words, as your first character). It is only when the villain comes from the KH-verse's council of villains that they become limited.
